I have a ThinkPad x260 laptop. I ordered the following two cables to connect to my monitors, but they don't fit:
1. Select Series Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to DisplayPort 1.2 Cable, 3ft. Product # 13372
Monoprice said this cable would work with the x260.
2. Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to DVI Active Adapter Cable, Mini DP to DVI (M/M), 1920 x 1080/1080p, 3 ft. Model Number: P586-003-DVI-V2
The Mini DisplayPort connectors are 20-pin, but neither connector will fit on the port of the X260. It seems the right size, but it will not push on.
Is the Mini DisplayPort connector on the x260 proprietary? Is it male or female?
I would have ordered the cable from Lenovo, but my boss wants a 3-foot black cable, nothing else.

I haven't tried the "ThinkPad x260" but I have seen other Thinkpads with mini display port and it is standard. I haven't seen any tricks or non standard Mini DisplayPort on Thinkpads for the moment.
Maybe someone with a "ThinkPad x260" can reply with more information.

The adapter must be pushed by force to plug it in. i am using common miniDP adapter bonus from graphic card.
I think that's because x260 body does not give enough gap to the port so it's hard to stretch.
i can easily plug/unplug on T430(bot) & T450s(mid) using one hand, but i must using power on this x260(top)
