Mobile broadband carbon X1

2019-12-06, 14:29 PM

Dear all,

I have a "X1 Carb<on 6th Gen - (Type 20KH, 20KG) Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 20KH" with sim-card slot and mobile broadband.

I used i a lot before. I do not know when or why it happened, but all settings for mobile broadband have disappeared.

Can anyone help me? Do I need a new driver?

Hi Vegard! Welcome to our forums community. Have you made any changes or any updates installed recently before the issue came up? Try reinstalling the WWAN driver from this link:https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/sk/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-carbon-6th-gen-type-20kh-20kg/20kh/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Networking%3A%20Wireless%20WAN. Let us know how it goes.

Hi!

Thank you for your reply! I've tried to update the driver, with no luck. I do not know how it happened but as you can see from the screenshot, all optinions for using "cellular" is gone. (Sorry for Norwegian settings).

Any other advices?

What is the current Windows 10 build version on your device? Just type winver on the search box on the bottom left side of your screen or desktop mode.

We can see here that the machine is compatible with Windows 10 1909: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht509394. Before proceeding, run the update through the Vantage app and install all available updates before installing the latest Windows update. Restart the computer and check if the issue is the same.

Hi again!

Win 1909 is now installed, but I'm afraid it did not fix the issue.

Try running the Network troubleshooter:

1. Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.
2. Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
3. Click on View all on the left navigation pane and click on Network troubleshooter.
4. Click on Advanced on the Network troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
5. Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction to complete the Network troubleshooter.

If the issue still persist, try uninstalling the WWAN driver from the device manager and restart the computer. Check if the issue is the same.
