It has to be mentioned as matter of disclaimer really since this forum is innundated with users who mistakenly believe they're x was GSM / CDMA equipped when they notice the SIM card slot under the battery. Most X's have the SIM slot but this seems standard regardless if the user configured or will have it installed.

Assuming you spec'd your for the card and aren't being hopefully confused by spotting the slot....

1. Check your BIOS setting to ensure the card is enabled

2. check devmgmt.msc for the WiFi or "MobileBroadband" category since the category isn't standard and verify the card is properly installed and enabled / if it is then verify in the cards Advanced properties to ensure the OPERATING SYSTEM DOESN'T TURN OFF THE CARD TO SAVE POWER !!!!

Still failing then contact tech support or reply with the rest of the story and whatever inordinary things you've done to this thing because the manufacturers and cellular providers along with Lenovo's group have worked extraordinarily hard to even COOPERATE IN DETERMINING CONFIGURATION AND RARE FOR  SO MANY THINGS TO COME TOGETHER SO WELL IN LAPTOP AS DO BROADBAND CARDS.

The cards monthly subscription costs and cellular usage penalties has forced them to behave so cohesively when delivering the option since the type of person who buys a broadband card expects it to work and work out of the box.

If you could take an official or even unofficial survey of what kind of hardware failure makes end users and prosumers angriest and fastest and it is any device that has a monthly subscription along with a penalty for early termination. For those reasons along with a culture of providing telecommunicaitons to the dumbest person imaginable  ( of that dumbest person test subejct is anohter phone company employee )...it is hard to jack up one of those cards unless you are trying to.

Don't just sit there, take a second and use the Kudo's button to compliment the people who help you.
