My X1 Carbon does not wake up

2018-10-02, 14:54 PM

I have a lenovo X1 Carbon with this hardware

Intel Core i7-4600U Processor (2.10GHz)
8.0GB RAM
1x180GB SSD
Windows 7 Professional 64 preinstalled through downgrade rights in Windows 8.1 Pro 64
14.0in 2560x1440 Multitouch
Intel HD 4400 Graphic
720p HD Camera

The problem is when the notebook is suspended, when wanting to use it again the screen is black and does not turn on again. Does anyone know of any solution for this? Windows has never been reinstalled since I bought it, it currently has a Windows 7 64 bit, so I saw it is a common error but I did not find anyone to tell me how to fix it. Thank you very much

Unplug your computer, take a paperclip, and hold it down in the tiny hole on the bottom of the computer for ~30 seconds. Try to reboot, let me know what happens!

It just initiates a power cycle, there will be no loss of data.

I would continue to try the pinhole reset. You should feel a slight click when you insert the paperclip, and like I said hold it for around 30 seconds making sure that the computer is not plugged in.

If you're able to get into your OS, I would recommend running Lenovo System Update, and scanning for any driver updates. Install any that are available.

Ok, that's good information. Were there any updates installed through system update?

Yes i updated everything, drivers apps etc. and the notebook is not working as it should, it´s working very slowly and the startup is taking too much time. After that one or two times when i put the windows to sleep, when waking it up started to blink the power button, backlght and que funcion keys, had to use the paperclip to shut it down then i started it again. Now i´m trying to uninstall the Lenovo Energy Manager and the solution center to see if that fix my problem.
