My X230 isn't able to determine warranty"

2013-07-28, 10:16 AM

My X131e is still in warranty but whenever I put in my S/N and machine type for my X230, it doesn't deliver the info on the warranty. The lenovo Solution Center is unable to determine either.

What gives? The X230 is very new and I'm happy with it, but if there's no way to figure out the warranty other than DIALLING Lenovo, which I don't want to do, I'm not gonna be purchasing a Lenovo device next time round.

What's the status of my warranty on my X230? If it breaks and lenovo isn't bothered to repair the system, then basically Lenovo's gone insane.

I messaged a Lenovo support member on the forums here, and it's been resolved. However I have uninstalled the software that gives me info about the system. I found it a major CPU strain that made my battery life 2 hours lower than it normally is.

Other than that, the system is indeed in warranty and they've resolved it.

Have you tried looking in the Lenovo System Health and Diagnostics app that comes installed on your system?  Under the Support tab there is a Warranty button that should check it for you.

GLaDOSPulse,

Could you tell us a bit more about how much CPU resources that LSC (the diagnostic) was taking up leading to your uninstalling it?  Glad you got your warranty issue sorted out!

Thanks for the feedback!
