My windown10 can't identify my external DVD writer.

2018-11-18, 13:54 PM

Dear All

I had one external DVD writer. And had used before.

But when I want to use it today, my NB can't identify my DVD writer. It is disappear.

Even in my devices manager, also can't find my DVD writer.

Even after I re-start my NB, it is still the same.

Is it the windows 10 problem or my NB problem.

By the way, my NB is Lenovo X1 Carbon.

Probably, the DVD writer needs more power than the port can provide.  Hook the writer to a powered hub or get a "Y" cable to draw power from 2 ports.
