It would be difficult to overstate how poorly the trackpoint and mouse select buttons have been implemented in the new X1 Carbon... Essentially the mouse select buttons on the new model are very  nearly unusable.  They are mushy, imprecise, and do not work about 25% of the time.

I beg to differ. It's impossible to overstate how bad that implementation is ;)

Re: I want a refund for my X1 4th gen, not happy - Trackpad.

Why don't you just use tap to click? You do realize you don't have to press on the touchpad, right? It seems like a lot of people are criticizing the touchpad without actually understanding how it works.

-you can tap to click
-you can scroll with two fingers
-tap with two fingers to right click

It's not that hard people. Again if you want to see a crappy touchpad, try a competing laptop from HP or Dell.

Because many of us we are trackpoint users. Our thumbs would usually rest on the buttons in older models - and now they rest on the touchpad with lots of accidental clicks.

We understand how a trackpad works but we just prefer a trackpoint over a trackpad any day.

Much easier to click and drag with the trackpad.

What's the ponit of removing it? Because Apple did it? Form over function right?

Is there a new OneLink Dock?

The last one had a poor reputation for network and display issues - but not sure if that is solved by a new dock, or a new laptop.

No, there is no build in SD card reader in the new 2015 X1 either. Ports are the same.

Power/OneLink Port

2 USB (one powered)

1 HDMI

1 MiniDP

1 NIC requiring an adapter.

Headphone jack.

Weights are 2lbs 14 oz for the non touch and

3lbs and 1oz for the touch model.
