Old drivers?

2009-01-27, 3:49 AM

Hi,

where does one find old Lenovo drivers?  My screen is flickering and I would like to try the previous driver for my X60s.

Thanks.

The original drivers which were installed when the system left the factory can be found in C:\SWTOOLS. Installing these will help avoid a complete system recovery if you need to roll back a driver.

JaneL, can you be more specific about exactly what your are pointing to? Where are the old drivers?

I've always wondered if there was a repository for previous verions of ThinkPad drivers and software, but all I can find by following your link is the latest versions. Maybe the answer is staring at me and I'm just sleepy...

You should have a look on this thread: http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=X_Series_Thinkpads&thread.id=872

Many of us experienced this problem... and there isn't any solution at the moment, except re-image the HDD...

... or going back to the older driver without reimaging ;-)

6.14.10.4450 works without the flickering bug.

If I knew the file name... I could do search on my machine if the installation package is still there.

But the Lenovo website is currently sooo slow, can't find the driver history.

Yah, but what if I want the previous drivers, not the original ones???  There is no driver repository for thinkpad drivers?

My screen doesn't flicker but i can't play WC3 though. Get a blue screen and the color quality changes to 4-bit and the fix is to restart the computer. I'm pretty sure it's because of the new video card driver (6.14.10.5002) and would now like to rollback to previous driver. However I don't have any rescue partition on my HDD since I upgraded it a couple of weeks ago.

The video card driver for X60/-s are the same as the one for X61/-s, right?

Anyone who can share the video card driver that was released before 6.14.10.500? Upload it, or something.
