You will probably have noticed that even with the FHD display, you are only getting 6-7 hours of battery life on the X1E or P1. There is a bug involving the nvidia GPU that seems to be causing drain:
Go to device manager, select dedicated nvidia GPU -> disable it
then -> reenable
your idle power draw will now be so much less. Lenovo Engineer's PLEASE FIX THIS.

Thanks very much Eason85, I was getting a miserable 3-4 hours of battery life on my X1 Extreme with FHD, but after following your instructions it's telling I should get almost 9 hours (will have to see if this is true).
Lenovo, this seems like a major issue that should be resolved as soon as possible.

Wow just dobbelt battery life on the X1 ? Do I have to disable and then enable after every reboot ?
Way to many issues on the X1 extreme, impressive by how poor the quality control must have been on this machine.

Unfortunately you have to do it every reboot.
If you want it fixed, you have to call tech support and report it multiple times, as they don't usually report things when they say they are.
