Hi, I like both HDR and LTE on these laptops but it seems that if I choose HDR screen, LTE option becomes unavailable. I cannot have both. If I choose the LTE option and connect these laptops to a 4K HDR TV, will I still be able to view HDR contents on the external TV even I cannot do that on the laptop screen? Please clarify. Thanks.

I'm not seeing any conflict with the choice w.r.t. the X1C6. LTE + HDR.
When it comes to HDR output, unless if Lenovo used a LSPcon or something similar for the HDMI output, it's going to be directly connected to the Intel UDH620 IGP. The IGP is limited to HDMI 1.4, which cannot realistically do HDR at 4k.

I see now. X1 Yoga 3 WWAN antennas are in the display section, whereas the X1C6 has all antennas in the base unit - sidestepping potential configuration clashes.
I may assume tethering is not a viable option? I have to admit, I only tether nowadays because it's slightly cheaper. I've since found it to be limiting in terms of how I can use my computer and phone.

If I buy the non HDR screen version of X1 Yoga Gen 3, can I play and view HDR contents in HDR on my externally connected HDR 4K TV via the HDMI port of the X1 Yoga?

So even I get the one with HDR screen, I can inky display HDR contents on the laptop lcd screen not on external 4k tv with HDR support even via usb-c to hdmi 2.0 adatper?

USB-C (Displayport) to HDMI 2.0 is a suported Intel HDR pathway.
