So I am getting random shutdowns while on battery. the shutdowns are graceful and happen randomly. Sometimes under load, sometimes just idling. I got the following message from my kern.log file.
Machine: X1 Extreme gen 1, i7-8750h
OS: Pop!Os 19.04
The first message in my log when the shutdown occurs is the following:
Aug 25 18:08:06 pop-os kernel: [38800.447025] thinkpad_acpi: unhandled HKEY event 0x6031 Aug 25 18:08:06 pop-os kernel: [38800.447028] thinkpad_acpi: please report the conditions when this event happened to firstname.lastname@example.org Aug 25 18:08:06 pop-os kernel: [38800.479372] thermal thermal_zone0: critical temperature reached (128 C), shutting down Aug 25 18:08:06 pop-os kernel: [38800.485069] thermal thermal_zone0: critical temperature reached (128 C), shutting down
Obviously it thinks its running hot and then shuts down. However this is not the case as temps are extremely low (50C-60C).
I have no tb3 docks attached and it has never happened while connected on AC power, even in extended gaming sessions when the computer actually gets hotter up to 85C.
I sent the email to
and don't know if an answer can be expected from that so I am posting here as well to see if someone at Lenovo might help.
I am still under warranty period so that is an option as well even if It is really complicated for me to relocate to a town where I can get support (I live in a rural area in Brazil)
