Reading with SSD X300 Sata to USB Controller

2014-07-09, 10:58 AM

Hey Guys,

my x300 stopped working so I want to get my data from the SSD of the x300. I bought a Sata to USB cable and connected the SSD to a Windows and a Mac Computer. Both recognize the SSD but cannot execute any operations like reading or writing.

In fact in Windows the SSD is not listed as a hard drive but in the utility manager the SATA-USB Controller appears.

However, probably I am just naive and the SSD is encrypted or something ;) but I don't even know what to google here so please give me a hint on how to retrieve data from this SSD!

Regards

Hi Hemanth,

sadly that didn't solve my problems since I do have a fitting adapter but when I connect the disk to my computers nothing happens. I have no clue why.. :(

Hi Maddes,

Thank you for the reply!

I understand your concern and I am sorry for the situation, as the issue is with hardware and the drive is not detecting we cannot take the data backup. However you can check the SSD drive connecting to a desktop PC to confirm once, because sometimes if the cable have any compatible issue it won’t work.

If the issue still persists then you have to check with 3rd party vendors who are experts in recovering the data, only they can assist you on the issue.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar
