Red Hat Linux is WARMING my Thinkpad

2017-12-28, 14:30 PM

Hello.

Before, I was using FEDORA 27 without this kind of problem.

After install RedHat Linux Enterprise Desktop Edition (7.4), the FAN is allways running, and I fell my right side warmer than ever.

My processor is Intel® Core™ i7-4600U CPU @ 2.10GHz × 4

Any of you guys feel this happening?

Any sugestion?

Thanks.

Check which powersavings profile that's active:

  tuned-adm active

Install aditional powersaving  profiles to tuned in Red Hat:

   sudo yum install tuned-profiles-compat

List available profiles:

   tuned-adm list

Activate a suitable profile with something along the lines of:

   tuned-adm profile laptop-battery-powersave
