Replace Keyboard Yoga X1 2nd gen

2020-03-29, 13:52 PM

my keyboard is not working properly anymore, if i press a key the input is sometimes two keys or complete different key. Also some keys are not working at all.

I can't remember spilling anything over the notebook. But for the last months i'm sure i didn't spill anything over it and suddenly the keyboard is not working anymore,

I have warranty until May 2020. Is this covered by the warranty ? If not, is there any documentation how to replace the keyboard for the X1 Yoga 2nd Gen ? Because in the Hardware manual there  is no chapter for keyboard bezel replacement for the 2nd Gen X1 Yoga.

I just know that you basically have to remove nearly every part to get to the keyboard. If i want to replace it which part do i need ? And should i buy the whole Keyboard in the cover or just the keyboard.

I thought about this one here:

Welcome to the forums.  As long as its not CID(customer induced damage) such as drop, water damage it should be covered under warranty.  I would call support for your country before warranty expires right away.
