Restoring master boot record after uninstalling truecrypt full drive encryption

I just removed truecrypt full drive encryption from my x201. However, it does not seem to have sucessfully restored the master boot record, as it still boots in to a truecrypt password prompt. Unlike when the drive was encrypted, I can click Esc and can bypass the prompt and boot in to Windows.

How do I restore to the normal master boot record? I tried using the lenovo F11 recovery, but can not find anything in there to restore it, besides perhaps restoring everything to factory settings (and even then I am not sure if it would be fixed).

Can you please instruct me how to do this? I would prefer to do it without a USB drive (I don't have one).

Re: Restoring master boot record after uninstalling truecrypt full drive encryption

See here for the usual method.... http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-62978

You may need to look at transfering the bootable CD image onto a bootable USB stick, using the Microsoft tool (or similar)... http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Cheers,

Bill

Thanks, but that seems to be only for Windows XP. I have 7.
