Slow boot time X1 extreme

2018-12-02, 5:40 AM

I got the 32gb ream, i7, 1tb ssd option and i find that is taking too long to boot, its a 3.1k computer, it takes 17s to boot up from shut down. is this normal? is a pCLe ssd to be like that.

I'm also experiencing this. It's somewhat snappy at times but I thought it would be faster, especially on startup. Did clean install of Windows and updated the drivers through lenono app.

X1E

i7 8850

32 GB RAM

PCLe SSD

4gb Nvidia card

Touch screen

What gives?

No idea, I'm quite a newb.

I've got a few new computers coming in and am trying to get them all setup. I've always done a clean install when I first get a new computer to remove some bloat. The other one I setup was the M920t and it seems quite a bit faster.

I thought maybe doing a clean install removed something...but I've gone through the app several times to check for updates and it says everything is updated.

I also have an i5 spectre x360 with 8gb ram and it seems snappier than the X1E, where I thought the X1E would blow it away.

Not sure what's going on? I've also set performance to max wherever I could and still not as fast as expected.

That's weird, I can't compared with anything but atleast is exporting pretty fast, but the boot times. Maybe something with the SSD? But I change the SSD for a Samsung Evo 970 and still the same, will leave the samsung and tryit alone with a clean install to see what happens

I’m editing a video and I’m having drop frames in the timeline but **bleep** for a so expensive laptop with that power is dropping too many frames, not sure why is this happening

Can you suggest some programs or something I can use to run some tests to actually see if something is off?

Total newb here so please speak slowly ;)
