Hey guys, I have an x1 carbon touch with windows 8 and even with the updated intel drivers, im only pulling about 12 megabits from my asus rt-n56u router. It wont even connect to the 5ghz channel. Any idea? I hear this chip is capable of more speed than that..

Ok, I think I have this one fixed.
I had to go into the device manager and enable "wireless-n" mode. for some reason it was off. This was also preventing me from accessing my 5g N band. Also, make sure you change the channel bandwidth from 20mhz to "auto" to increase the speed. Its beyond me why these settings where this way by default. But I can say that my wifi is tons better and much, much faster! Let me know if you have any questions!

I have been trying to fix this issue since I purchased the X1 6 months ago. Your direction worked. Thank you very much. I am very agitated why these would be the default settings.
