Andy, we do live in Germany/Europe and not the USA, I even wonder that 200 units will go to Germany sooner as maybe expected at all. :smileyhappy:

Thanks for the moral support. Mission accomplished see my shipping thread

Aside - do we know us?

Ah I see, great you got managed to get one ordered, which will hopefully coming soon so you can tell your impressions.

I doubt we know each other, since I suppose your main playground is more here --> www.thinkpad-forum.de (...beside OKn.de ?) and my plyground is mostly here --> www.notebook-foren.de among some other non-german sites.

No I don't hang out at either. I admit I do have 3 posts at TPF-DE and I know the GF of OKn very well, just thought maybe we'd met at a TP-Treff.

Related to my above post about newer 1.8" harddrives, I've now somehow in time saw the following news from the Toshiba Storage Device Division...

--> http://www.toshibastorage.com/techdocs/PR2008-02c-1.8-inchMKxx16GSG5400drive.pdf

...about 5,400 RPM Serial ATA (SATA) 1.8-inch HDDs. - And even both Toshiba and Samsung have a
joint venture named TSST (Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Cooperation), the actual Samsung Spinpoint N series of 1.8" HDDs have only 4200 RPM drives, but their biggest model HS161JQ has therefor a capacity of 160GB. - I believe we will soon see even more capacity/performance improvements in the 1.8" HDD segement, since slim and compact notebooks like the X300 are actually very trendy and small affordable HDDs do fit best in such devices, beside the much more expensive SSDs.

@andyP

I've just been at some Lenovo TP-events in HH so far.
