Hello
Each time i press space bar key, there is a very small delay before space appears on screen.
So i make a lot of typing errors.
Computer is X240, BIOS is 2.16, every driver is up to date.
Windows is 8 PRO. It does the same with Windows 7 so i think it's a software issue.
Lenovo E420 had that before and problem was fixed by a BIOS update.

Hi,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Try this. Go to control panel -> Keyboard. Change the repeat delay to short and repeat rate to fast.
Try in different applications like Word/Notepad and in different browsers like Mozilla/chrome and check if the space key behaves in a similar way.
Best regards,
Mithun.

Hi !
Still have the same problem.
Problem was on E420s :
When typing on the E420s there is a noticeable delay when pressing the space key on the keyboard. If I press two keys down, at the same time say "a" and "e" both appear on the screen instantaneously. This holds true for any number of combinations. However if the "a" key and the space bar is press at the same time there is 0.5 second delay between the "a" showing and the space showing.
I have exactly the same bug on my X240 with BIOS 2.16.
I have the bug in BIOS settings too, so it's 100% a BIOS bug or hardware bug.
Does it occurs on 2.15 BIOS ?? I flashed computer the day i had it.
becauseofthatbugimakealotoftypingerrorslikethat.
Thanks

Does someone can try this on his X240 please :
When typing on the E420s there is a noticeable delay when pressing the space key on the keyboard. If I press two keys down, at the same time say "a" and "e" both appear on the screen instantaneously. This holds true for any number of combinations. However if the "a" key and the space bar is press at the same time there is 0.5 second delay between the "a" showing and the space showing.
You can try this in NOTEPAD.
I'm still thinking it's a software Issue in BIOS.
Thanks

Hi,
If I happen to come across any solution for X240 specifically, I will definitely update you. Meanwhile you may seek assistance from support and check if such a software bug has been reported by any X240 users. If it’s not a common issue, the keyboard itself could be the culprit.
Thanks and regards,
Mithun.

When I first bought my X201t there was a bug where the keyboard couldn't keep up with fast typists: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-Tablet-ThinkP
They fixed it with a BIOS patch a few weeks later, so it's possible that the issue you're seeing is BIOS-related.
