Hi,
I have the new x1 carnon,
I have IPS panel and I have display ghosting?
Do you know this?
This manufacturing defect?
I read about a similar problem in a MacBook Retina in Lg panel
Does this computer have a panel of LG?
Are there different types of panels this computer?
Thank,

Yes, I am having the same problem. I escalated it to the local lenovo support and they promptly changed the touch display panel. But the problem is still there.
Looks to be a manufacturing defect. Read somewhere that DELL had a similar problem with one of their laptop models which they accepted to be a manufacturing defect.

Hi Mark,
Searched for the term image ghosting and came across your posts. Not sure if i should be posting it here but here it is:
This pertains to my X1 Carbon new (2014) - touch screen model. I bought it in March 2014 and I have faced the same issue of image retention and posted about the same on the forum elsewhere. I could see the desktop icons on the dark screen background and could also see the outlines of IE tabs on my desktop. The display panel was changed along with cable in response to my previous service request on the same. Prior to this also, the display panel was changed.
Typically, on a new panel, this is not there. It starts to show up prominently after 2 weeks of usage. As of now, on the new panel, I can see the faint desktop icons at the bottom of the screen while shutting down. On the previous display panel, I could see the icons on all the four edges of the screen and these were very pronounced and irritating. Also, the edges / sides (1 cm band all around the display became much brigher than the rest of the display) and it was in this bright area, I could see the desktop icons on all the four sides. The darker area in the middle clearly stood out as a well defined rectangle.
Local Lenovo support have changed the display twice and display cable once - they have been very responsive but does not look like changing displays is the answer. As i mentioned, I have started seeing faint desktop icons on the bottom of the new screen already - and it has been only about a week since the panel was changed. I am sure with time this will get worse as it did on the previous screen. To me it seems to be a problem with the display panel itself - my thoughts.
What can be the resolution...
Thanks..

i have escalated to the services leadership team in India. Let us see how they respond. So far except for an acknowledgement of my mail, there has been no communication.
