Re: ThinkPad X series shipping thread - 2015 edition

2015-10-11, 2:44 AM

I ordered a 3rd x1 carbon with 16G RAM 2560 x 1440 not-touch screem on 10/8/2015. It showed the estimated ship date is 10/15/2015 after I made the order.

When I check my order status today, the estimated ship date is made 1 day ahead to 10/14/2015.

Same for me xxls.  Ordered x1 and released to UPS two days earlier.

I ordered x1 with 16gb, 2540 screen non touch, and the 512 PCI drive.  No Win 10, ordered with 7pro.

Also ordered the pro link dock.  Order screen showed an earlier ship date than the x1 but it has yet to be released.

Sorry to rehash an old thread, but is it normal for an order to sit nearly a week in the same place?

I ordered a X260 on Nov 3rd, and got a shipment notification on Nov 6th, and the UPS tracking says it's in UPS posession since last Sunday Nov6, today is the 12th. My credit card was charged.

Well, yes, this isn't the best thread to get attention on this topic - I happened to notice the message.

I'm not sure which generation the 2015 X1 would be - Lenovo refers to them as 1st gen, 2nd gen, etc. Current is 5th gen I believe.  The X1s have always been strongly biased towards lightness first, so there will be a compromise in the amount of battery they can squeeze into the case.  The newest ones have been improved this way - the 7th gen core processors (7000 numbers) also are known to be well designed for better battery life. Plus, if you are buying an older PC do you know how the battery has been cared for - was it run all the way down sometimes? Was it just plugged in all the time?  these things will affect the remaining life of the battery after 2 years of use.  If you are buying a new one, maybe that's not an issue.

If you travel, be sure to carry the 12-vold adapter and power supply as some airlines still use that. I travel a lot and find that I can get across the US with my older Yoga2Pro by spending at least part of the flights plugged in.
