Ugh! I ordered on November 23nd. Estimated shipping time was the 5th of December, which was already long enough. I live in Europe and am flying back on December 16th, so I figured I had plenty of time to spare for any delays. Nope. They just updated my order to be here on December 22nd, a whole MONTH after ordering. And support just tells me:

"We apologize for the delay on the shipment/delivery of this item. We are doing our very best to fulfill the order as soon as possible. Rest assured that we will update the website once an information has been provided."

and that they can't do anything. Now I have paid almost two grand for a laptop that I will never see.

You're probably better off.  I have 25 of these things sitting in storage that we can't deploy to users because of audio stuttering / high DPC latency.  If you don't care about having real-time audio work then tell Lenovo I'll gladly sell them back the 25 I have sitting here so I can buy machines that actually work.  That would solve their shipping delays.  :smileyhappy:

I have placed order on 22nd Nov and it is indicated that the laptop will arrive in 14 days. even told the livechat operator to expedite which he says is "no problem". Lenovo sends me confirmation to only deliver on 22nd DEC!!!!

Order number: 4290807278

I have called the hotline and written to the livechat has gotten no reply! I would like to have someone in Lenovo actually take orders placed seriously and call with a solution.

Moderator note:  post moved to existing shipping thread.  Subject edited to match.  Was:  14 day delivery is BS!

Mine was dispatched quickly but has been sitting in China for over a week ("waiting for airline shipping" or something). The Gearbest website did give a delivery time of 30-45 days IIRC though.

Sorry, pls ignore - I got confused & thought this was thread about USB-C power banks!

Re: ThinkPad X series shipping thread - 2017 edition

So.. just to understand how it works. I placed an order on February 13th.. they processed it on February 14th. The website was showing an expected shipping date of 10 working days which means February 28th (which was already a lot since that's the shipping, not the delivery).

Today since I was not receiving any e-mail I've looked up on my order and the shipping is "expected" on March the 9th...

Now.. since this is the "top" brand that Lenovo is selling, do they realize that this shows how bad is their customer care? I've also tried to call order support to understand the reason for the delay, but the phone voice just says "we have issues, so our customer support is not working".

If this is the best that they can do, I don't want to imagine how bad is the after shipping support... If I have a problem with my laptop should I expect another month before getting a working machine? (anyway on the website is now showing 7 day for the shipping... which is quite unrealistic since mine is not shipping in 7 days and I ordered 2 weeks ago)

I'm seriously disappointed... they would be better telling customers if you order it will take 1 month instead of moving expected shipping date always forward... this to me translate to a company not able to fullfill their statements.

@GotiZ: you don't say what model this is, or which model year. I didn't think 2018 models of X1C for example are shipping yet - if yours is 2018 model then, based on forum comments over the last couple of years, I'd say the first shipment dates are very variable (and it can depend on the parts chosen, e.g. last year 1TB PCIe seemed to be in short supply for a while).

I cant' explain not being able to contact customer services - maybe that's an issue in Italy? In the UK last year I never had any trouble getting through. After sales warranty is done by a different part of the organisation too I think.

Hi,

yes it's a 2018 model, yet I expect them to notify me about this delay and the reasons for it (even more if it's not their fault). Still as I said I don't understand why the shipping date has been reduced on their website if mine can't be shipped not in the shipping date available at order, neither in the current estimated shipping date on their website... If you have problem with production I expect you to increase estimated shipping date instead of reduce it... don't you? I didn't choose a "custom" model, i've chosen a standard one from their proposal.. a top specs Carbon X1 Yoga 2018.
