I did get the system today. I was a little worried at first because it went from Alaska to Kentucky yester, but it did make it back west overnight. I've already got Linux (Gentoo) running on it.

@kudram Was that an X1 Carbon? There have been some issues with the touchpad, which seem to have been resolved on Windows but not Linux. As you are running Gentoo please could you post a comment over on this discussion: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/tp02_en/thread-id/75464/page/16 .
Even if the touchpad works well for you this feedback would be useful for the (X1C5 Linux) community. Thanks!

Wish I had come here first, I probably would have bought a surface at the Microsoft store this weekend instead of placing yet another Lenovo order.
Ordered by phone July 11, told 5 to 7 days for shipment, online status was ship July 19, today it is ship July 23... We'll see if it actually ships before I give up and drive back to the Microsoft store. Then of course there's the time in transit to deal with. They're allowing 5 days, expected arrival July 28. Lovely, I'm at a conference that day.

Anyone knows what's going on? Ordered 2 X1 Carbon on June 28th, and the shipping date has been postponed day after day and now says July 31, more than one month after!

I think that's "standard" for Lenovo. The rule of thumb seems to be: it will ship earlier than it says on their order status page yet still later than you'd expect.

Ugh! I ordered on November 23nd. Estimated shipping time was the 5th of December, which was already long enough. I live in Europe and am flying back on December 16th, so I figured I had plenty of time to spare for any delays. Nope. They just updated my order to be here on December 22nd, a whole MONTH after ordering. And support just tells me:
"We apologize for the delay on the shipment/delivery of this item. We are doing our very best to fulfill the order as soon as possible. Rest assured that we will update the website once an information has been provided."
and that they can't do anything. Now I have paid almost two grand for a laptop that I will never see.

You're probably better off. I have 25 of these things sitting in storage that we can't deploy to users because of audio stuttering / high DPC latency. If you don't care about having real-time audio work then tell Lenovo I'll gladly sell them back the 25 I have sitting here so I can buy machines that actually work. That would solve their shipping delays.

I have placed order on 22nd Nov and it is indicated that the laptop will arrive in 14 days. even told the livechat operator to expedite which he says is "no problem". Lenovo sends me confirmation to only deliver on 22nd DEC!!!!

I have called the hotline and written to the livechat has gotten no reply! I would like to have someone in Lenovo actually take orders placed seriously and call with a solution.
