What sort of issues are you seeing...? Mine was going to show today, but some fair weather pilot at UPS delayed the flight a day.  Hoping to have it Thursday... or I'm driving to Kentucky to get it!

Re: ThinkPad X series shipping thread - 2018 edition

Looking around after I placed my order with Lenovo, I noticed that Newegg had a build very similar to what I had ordered from Lenovo. I cancelled my order with Lenovo and made the purchase from Newegg. Placed the order on Monday and it arrived Wednesday afternoon with Newegg's free three day shipping. Happy to avoid Lenovo's shipping process.

Anyway, loving the ThinkPad X1 Yogo 3rd Gen. What a fantastic computer but coming from a W530 I suppose it isn't too hard to be impressed. Laptops have changed so much since the W530.

Re: ThinkPad X series shipping thread - 2018 edition

Well, hello Forum.

I ordered my X1 Carbon (6th) on the 24th April and ETA was the 11th May. Now, the shipping estimate is the 8th and delivery ETA the 15th May. I hope they won't post pone. I cannot wait.I understand it takes some time to put it together, but let's hope it won't take longer than the estimate I have now.

They need to offer customers a choice of other couriers. UPS is so incompetent here and keep causing all sorts of problems Smiley Sad

Re: ThinkPad X series shipping thread - 2018 edition

Hi guys,

I have an invoicing question.

I placed the order on 01/05 but have received a shipping date of mid June. The Ultra Sleeve has already been shipped. The VAT invoice of the Sleeve was dated 02/05.

When the laptop actually ships, will the Invoice Date be the order date or the shipping date? I need to know as it spans across 2 months and right now I'm not sure when to expense it to the company.

Thank you in advance.

Re: ThinkPad X series shipping thread - 2018 edition

Just wanted to write a quick update.

The order has been delayed once oficially but I have seen the date change two times, from the 5th of May to the 9th and 10th of May. Every day the info has been updated and once the date was put back to May 9th.

The order was shipped on the 7th May and will/should arrive on the 11th May.

I cannot say anything bad about this experience as it is understandable that it will take longer to put a custom laptop together and if some parts are delayed, then I just have to wait. I cannot wait to see it.

Dell laptops are also custom built. I don't recall having to wait this long for my XPS 1645.

I don't know I guess Dell should be your next choice. I am fine with it as long as it arrives in one piece and is fully functioning.

Re: ThinkPad X series shipping thread - 2018 edition

Just ordered my first X1 Carbon. First time dealing with Lenovo.

Wow - shipping estimations really are as bad as people say (I thought you were all whining tbh but now I believe you).

Yesterday the invoice said shipping was next week, now it's mid-June. How are Lenovo still in business when they operate this slowly? My needs aren't that urgent thankfully but if they were I would have canceled and gone somewhere else.

Problem for me is: I had planned on receiving this in May prior to a business trip on June 1st. Since the arrival time is now while I'm away, will the product be sent to a UPS store or left on my porch (hope not)?
