@myusername:

congrats that yours is arriving this Friday!

too bad your UHD screen isn't the same as my X1C7's UHD screen, as yours is with touch and mine is without touch.

i was hoping that if yours were to come in ~3 weeks that my 10-week shipping date might be shortened.

sigh.  no such luck.

Ordered X1C7 on July 30th night.(Canada)

It was originally scheduled to ship on Aug 8th(9th) both on website and order status.

However, it changed to Oct 14th like one or two day later.

So I contacted to customer service and they said it is inaccurate and accurate timeline should be come out 24-48 buisness hours.

But it stays the same until now.

I must get this before Sep..

Should I cancle and buy other laptop?

I guess you could wait 24 to 48 hours and see if it will update, and is your call at thend. based on my experience, without an intention to sound condensending, I wouldn't trust their support. My order was 1 to 3 business days, than changed to two weeks, and than changed to three weeks from the original purchase date.

I was assigned the case manager, but the feel I got is that nobody really knew. and they just gave me the same answers, it is escalated, the date is just an estimate, it will likely be sooner, and we will get back to you in 24-48 hours. At the end of day it ended up being shipped three weeks later, and nobody did anything, nor I got any update from anyone in the promised 24 to 48 hour frames. It just ran its course.

my 800 Lenovo number sales guy said the same thing to me:

don't worry about the original 4-5 week time frame suddenly changing minutes after you placed the "Order Now" button to a whopping eye popping 10 weeks (October 16th)!  don't worry about it, he said.   He said in 3 or so days, this will all change back down to the original 4-5 weeks!

as far as i can tell, he's just saying anything he needs to say to get a sale.  whatever happens, oh well, is out of his hands.  he'll just say anything to get a few extra days' delay before customers start canceling left and right.   with some luck, he'll have some customers leftover who are so tired of the process that they'll all just sit still and grudgingly tolerate the ludicrously increased delivery time frame.  that's what he's counting on, i'm guessing.

sigh.  what a lousy way to conduct business.  precisely a form of bait and switch.

Received my X1C7 3 days ago, was so excited when UPS called since I waited for so long for this.

Bad news tho, received a faulty machine and couldn't boot up at all. Tried diagnostics tool and did all the troubleshooting method.  No luck.

Contacted support, and they're basically forcing me to visit a service centre to get it repaired myself. Sending a faulty machine and expecting a customer to go through all the hassle to fix something they broke.

Dissapointed with Lenovo Malaysia Support. They basically broke their own terms and conditions on item that's Death on Arrival.

All the best with your purchases guys. I'm on the losing end here. Paid premium price for a premium product that doesn't work.

Didn't know Lenovo had a no refund, no replacement for faulty machine rule.

Update: laptop cleared Chinese customs on 8/5, arrived & cleared customs at Lousiville, KY on 8/7, arrived at my local UPS today (8/8). However my UPS driver decides that I'm not home, so he unilaterally diverted my package to a UPS Access Point! Keep in mind that I am at home the whole time, and did not even hear door bell or knocks on the door. I guess it's just UPS being UPS... Hopefully I can get it tomorrow before it vanishes somewhere in the UPS network lol

Don't listen to CS.
Just call and say: "I want to return the item as it is DOA".
1 minute later you will get an email with RMA and instructions how to ship it back.
100% money back. Then buy new one.
