Sorry if this is not the right venue for this topic, but I was hoping you all had experience with this problem because I'm getting really frustrated at Lenovo.

 

I custom ordered an x1 on August 9, with the expectation (and written confirmation) that the machine would take 3-5 business days to ship. Each day on my order visibilility portal, my expected ship day shows up in the morning, and is pushed back until the next day when I check back later. Does Lenovo have any idea when my order will be shipped? It would be one thing to postpone the order (which they did and emailed me about a week after I checked the order portal), but now there is no communication and I have no idea when the machine will arrive. 

 

I need the machine for work and school, and ordered it specifically because of immediate use. I'm using an old MacBook in the mean time and truly struggling. If I had known how much they would delay shipment, I would cancel but now I'm in limbo just waiting each day to see whether they actually ship it. My order screen now shows a shipment for Aug 28, which I'm sure will be pushed back again. 

 

Has anyone else experienced this type of delay and lack of communication? When should I expect my computer?

Ordered custom unit on 8/14.  Original confirmation stated it would ship on 8/31 and expect delivery by 9/6.

 

Just received msg the unit has shipped and my credit card was billed.  No expected receive date as yet.

may i ask what are the basic specifications of your custom unit please?

 

was it a UHD screen?  that seems to be the major obstacle in terms of time of delivery.   

 

every other component did not increase the delivery date, but when you add the UHD screen, it lengthened mine to October 16th even though i placed my order on August 1st!!

If it makes you feel better, my custom ordered X1E is with the 500nit FHD, not the UHD.
