Re: ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen X1C7 - first look

First: Thanks for all the infos here!

I got my X1 today:

ca. 2 weeks delivery time in Switzerland (UPS directly from CN)

Happy so far, but ;-)

Never had a laptop with such a strong smell from solvents, guess because its so fresh from the factory

Power supply is big/heavy, if anyone has a better suggestion...

Lenovo website in Switzerland is advertising with a lower starting price (ca. 10%) than the cheapest model which is available (not only for now) in the store. Support chat admitted the fake price, "feedback" form did not yield any reaction.

I ordered this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/JYDMIX-Universal-Delivery-Worldwide-Interchangeable/dp/B07G4JBL7K

It should be good enough for fast charge, no double wire shenanigans, and is quite light. Going to be able to confirm when I come back soon Smiley Happy

Get the ANKER 60W PD USB C Power Adapter. i also paired it with an ANKER USB C to USB C Cable. if you buy them together you get 20% off. It is very light and easy. I love it!! and great quality! go to AMAZON.

@Feysul et al:

may i please ask if the 60-watt stated Anker output specification might be an issue please?

the transformer provided by Lenovo for the X1C7  specifically says 65-watt (65W USB Type-C AC adapter), as per the PSREF.Lenovo site.

as much as i dislike the bulk of the Lenovo-issued transformer, i don't want to do anything to harm my brand new X1C7 either!

thank you all in advance.

I ordered the following charger from Amazon in advance of even receiving the X1. It is compact and seems well made.

This too would work great. I personally prefer ANKER. Great warranty and service and their quality is excellent.

I've just received an email pushing my CTO shipping date back 2 weeks. Very frustrating. UK store order placed 8th July 2019.
