ThinkPad X1 Carbon's screen won't turn on

2019-10-29, 9:00 AM

Hello,

yesterday I have put my computer to sleep, but when I tried to turn it on today, the screen did not turn on.

The adaptive keyboard works, I can even change the lightning of the keyboard, so I see the computer is "half on", but the screen remains black.

I tried to push the power button for 20seconds, push the reset button (which is the hole to the right from fan, I suppose),  put the AC in and out, nothing works. The screen won't wake up. I have updated drivers two days ago (even BIOS), but the computer worked yesterday normally!

What should I do? I'm quite desperate as I need it to school.

Thank you for any advice.

Same problem, screen stoped working after a graphic tablet driver update, I can see the backlight working, but the screen remains black. The only solution I have for the moment is using a second monitor, on which it works. I can only recommend you that if you need it for work, and if it works for you (let me know to see if we have the same problem).

The problem seems to come from a .inf file that doesn't identificate well my monitor. I don't know how it became like that...

Solution welcome if there is one ^^'

Is it even possible, that the cause of the problem is a driver update, if I upgraded it according to the official lenovo's application for downloading and upgrading drivers? The application always asks for the serial number of the computer so it makes sure the right drivers are downloaded...

I have the same problems too.

First I thought the display or cable is broken.

I tried changing display or cable, but it still didn't work.

The problem came after I upodate some firmwares and drivers with lenovo vantage, including bios, thunderbolt and intel manament engine.

I tried downgrading the firmwares.

But only bios and thunderbolt can be downgraded and didn't work.

Because intel manament engine firmware cannot be downgraded, I doute it is the reason why LCD cannot be light up.

Now I have two x1c6 with the same problem.

Please tell me if any one have solution to solve the problem.
