my ThinkPad X1 Extreme was working quite well for the last few months until today when the battery suddenly dropped to 0% (while it was plugged in) since then I've been unable to charge it back up again it just stays at 0% no matter how long you wait.
I've tried a few things like restarting the device (duh), holding the "reset" button thingy on the bottom of the device for several seconds (I've read that somewhere here on the forums) while powered off/unplugged, etc.
Also here is what upower says about the battery, interesting find: It doesn't seem to draw power (if I read that correctly)
Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0 native-path: BAT0 vendor: SMP model: 01YU911 serial: --- power supply: yes updated: Tue 16 Jul 2019 02:24:20 PM CEST (115 seconds ago) has history: yes has statistics: yes battery present: yes rechargeable: yes state: charging warning-level: none energy: 0 Wh energy-empty: 0 Wh energy-full: 80.72 Wh energy-full-design: 80.4 Wh energy-rate: 0 W voltage: 17.469 V percentage: 0% capacity: 100% technology: lithium-polymer icon-name: 'battery-caution-charging-symbolic'
The battery also seems to be the only issue as the device is working fine as long as it's plugged into a cable.
Has anyone any ideas on what I could try to do next? Or should I just assume the battery to be dead and contact support for a replacement?
