@bccc the power supply is FRU 02DL142, described as a slim 230W AC adapter.

"...models having the vapor chamber do not have a second SSD slot, nor do they have a WWAN option."

Wait... does that mean the 3080 models cant have the optional LTE/5g on them? Because that would be a complete dealbreaker for me...

And no.. i will not tether my phone to a laptop. If i were ... then i wouldnt be looking at a thinkpad..

@Emeryss The vapor chamber takes up the space that would be available for the WWAN slot.

Hello @richk

I think this answers previous member's question only partially.

The real question is - do all nVidia GPUs available for Gen 4 require a vapor chamber ? That would mean that any configuration specifically with dGPU would essentially wipe out the 2nd SSD slot. However, if lower-power dGPU, like 3050Ti and 3060, can be handled with simple air cooling, then that's the good news.

I think what I said in the review is correct.  the 3060, 3070 and 3080 GPU all require the vapor chamber for cooling.  Therefore, 3050Ti GPU models do not and can have a 2nd SSD and/or a WWAN card.  The availability of a WWAN card may also depend on your geographic location (country).

Note:  I haven't actually seen a 30050Ti model.  Model availability by region will become clearer when the model becomes available for sale.

Rich, based on your review, would you say that the touchscreen is worth it? I am not sure if this year the touchscreen model has the "best" display or whatnot. I value the display quality over most other things, and based on your review with the touchscreen model it seems to really shine. Other than the actual screen quality, can  you comment on things like the multi-touch support, pen pro support, etc?

Thanks for your contributions!

Best for me may not be best for you.  I believe the screen quality of the high-resolution touch screen is VERY similar to that of the non-touch high-resolution model.  I presume they are the same screen, except the touch model has the digitizer.  I like more dots-per-inch and I like the touch function

Hi Rich, would you please do a battery charge duration test of watching a youtube video until the laptop shuts down?

What about outdoor (or bright environment) performance, is 600 nits advertised close to the brightness in reality?

@jaybeuff No.  I never do that kind of test.  There are too many variables.

@bccc I have no tools to do accurate brightness tests so everything is subjective.  It looks bright to me.
