ThinkPad X1 Extreme memory upgrade?

2019-08-13, 14:46 PM

Hello,

I have a new x1 extreme gen 2 Part No: 20MFCTO1WW with 16 GB DDR4 2666MHz. I would like to go to 32 or 64 GB if I can.

Could anybody suggest what memory I should buy and where?

Thanks in advance, Ricky

You can have up to 64GB (2 X 32GB).  The part numbers for the 32GB SODIMMs are 01AG871 or 01AG861.  Other configurations are possible depending on thether you have 2 X 8GB or 1 X 16GB and what you want to end up with,

I'm not sure.  I got them using the parts lookup for your machine type. - https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup

I entered 20MF

It is always safest to buy from Lenovo, but I think they are the same as these:

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2666MHz-Memory-Computers-M471A4G43MB1/dp/B07N124XDS

I don't work for Amazon or whoever actually sells these.  (Amazon will be a lot cheaper)

Have you considered Crucial 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz SODIMM Memory Module?

MIcron is the parent company of Crucial.

If your X1EG2 includes a single 16Gb module, then get another 16Gb module to get 32Gb.
