Are there any photos available of the three options for the rear battery on the X270? The Lenovo ordering page lists the option, but gives no clue of the size or weight involved.
Any information will be gratefully received.

There's some information in the PSREF document:
The large print: please read the Community Participation Rules before posting. Include as much information as possible: model, machine type, operating system, and a descriptive subject line. Do not include personal information: serial number, telephone number, email address, etc.
The fine print: I do not work for, nor do I speak for Lenovo. Unsolicited private messages will be ignored - questions and answers belong in the forum so that others may benefit. ... GeezBlog

Thank you - but unfortunately the document seems to indicate only the difference in weight between three options (and doesn't show the weight differences, if any, between the two six-cell options). Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't give any hint of the differences in size among the three options.
Is there something out there that indicates the sizes? Perhaps with photos?

There two removable battery options are the 3-cell 68 and 6-cell 68+. The latter is about 13mm taller.
Hope this helps!

Thank you - that does help. But there are actually three battery options for the X270:
The last two are described as "cylindrical rear." It would be good know the differences between them. The first seems to be the 68 battery, the last seems to be the 68+. Do we know anything about the model number of the second one?

Thank you! Exactly what I was hoping to find. Amazing that Lenovo keeps this information to itself, so that we have to go third-party sites to find it.
Again, thanks for the full and complete answer.

Just bear in mind that the 6 cell battery sticks out of the chassis. We had a bit of a surprise with this.
The laptop with these weight is the following:
20K5 | 12.5"/31.8cm FULL-HD 1920x1080 Anti-Glare | Webcam | Intel Core i7-6600U Processor (4MB Cache, up to 3.40GHz) - 16GB DDR4 2133MHz SODIMM - SSD 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe OPAL2
3 Cell Li-Ion Battery 23.2WH Front
6 Cell Li-Ion Battery 47WH Cylindrical Rear
The aproximate weight are the following:
