Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 4 battery issue after only less than 400 charge

Hi,

My Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen 4 just went out of warranty 2 months ago but it can only hold 34% of the charge now and will only run for less than 2 hours. The battery is the one that came with the computer.

Is there a problem with this model? I have never had a laptop battery degrade as fast as this one.

Thanks,

Heejae

Re: Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 4 battery issue after only less than 400 charge

This is my experience with Thinkpads in general - The stock battery will die (having less than 50% of the capacity) within or shortly after the first 2 years. (z60m, T61, and now my X1 yoga 3rd gen. I am down to 85% after one year while only charging to 70% and being super-careful with the battery) Usually, aftermarket batteries are significantly more reliable, so I tend to factor in the requirement to buy a replacement battery. If you want to have reliable batteries, go Dell. On the other hand, some of my colleagues need a new charger every couple of months and have to buy Dell original. So, you cannot win.

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
