Thinkpad X1 Carbon - touchpad cursor slow after sleep/hibernate

I'm having the same issue with my brand new ThinkPad X1 Carbon.  The touchpad usually works fine, but then sometimes after waking from hibernation, it's very sluggish.  I have to swipe for a long distance just to get the pointer moving, and the touchpad is not very responsive to taps.  After a restart, it works fine.  It's also strange the the issue doesn't occur every time I wake from hibernation - only once in a while.

Lenovo, any fix for this?

Mod's Edit: Additional information added to Subject line for clarity of issue and moved post to its own thread in the Thinkpad forum.

Re: Thinkpad X1 Carbon - touchpad cursor slow after sleep/hibernate

Hi,

I've exactly the same issue. I have my Thinkpad X1Carbon 6th gen for 2 months now. I've had that issue from the very beginning and have been ignoring it first. After some touchpad driver update somewhen within last 2 months, I thought it would be gone. Yet it's definitely still (or again) there.

Often times after hibernate, when you want to move the pointer, the first 1cm of movement on the touchpad does not work, and only moves that are longer than 1cm have an effect. However, it is not 100% reproducible. Yet, super annoying...

In my carbon the same problem. Noticed after 1 month of use.

Re: Thinkpad X1 Carbon - touchpad cursor slow after sleep/hibernate

As already stated above, after hibernate, my touchpad does not reliably click if I want to tap on the center surface instead of using the dedicated key-areas on the bottom of the touchpad.

I find tihs highly annoying, and the fact that a system restart fixes the issue is a clear hint that the issue is software and should be fixed......

Re: Thinkpad X1 Carbon - touchpad cursor slow after sleep/hibernate

My inventory does not work as it should. Everything happens as you describe. The touch screen also does not work. Sometimes the decay does not slow down, but does not work completely.
Preloading helps.
So Lenovo must solve this problem on the software level.
I tried to work on the drivers of Microsoft, on the drivers of the Synaptic, on the drivers received from the Lenovo official site. Equivalent does not work.

The trackpad always works.

True, trackpad always works.

What do you mean by "preloading helps"?
