Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen- Battery not charging

I have a Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen

When I plug in my laptop it says "plugged in, not charging"

I've tried three USB-C different power adapters - 2 Lenovo, and one generic.

The laptop is still under warranty, but tech support has been worthless (mostly because I can't even reach them). And whenever I've reached them for other issues, they immediately jump to shipping it to the depot... something that's extremely difficult for me given the fact that I need this laptop for work. Any ideas from the community?

Re: Battery not charging

Do you have Lenovo Vantage installed?  IF yes did charging threshold get turned on?

Re: Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen- Battery not charging

If you started a battery reset, then these are the messages that you would receive. Try to start and then stop the reset process and see if the battery starts to charge again.

Reconnect the battery by using the emergency-reset hole. See page 6/7 of the manual (https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/x1_yoga_ug_en.pdf).

Re: Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen- Battery not charging

Thanks, this is useful... but what do you mean by "reconnect the battery by using the emergency reset hole" -?

According to the manual, this is just a reset button. Are you saying I should take the cover off?

Re: Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen- Battery not charging

No, you don't have to take the cover off. You can just use a paperclip. It's called a reset button, but I think what it does is disconnect the battery as long as you push it. It worked for several of our users who had the same issue with this model.

The reset button worked perfectly, thanks!

Support, of course, wanted to send the laptop back to the depot almost immediately without trying to test anything remotely.
