Thanks for your quick and detailed reply.

It doesn't show WWAN which means that the sim modem has not been activated?

It means there is no WWAN modem installed. Some sub-models are "WWAN ready." That means that the antennas and SIM card socket, etc. are there but not the modem itself.

My comments are mine. I don't work for or speak for Lenovo.

Just so everyone is aware, the X1 Yoga 2 is basically the "Yoga" version of X1 Carbon Gen 5, both of which was launched early 2017.

Both models featured the newly introduced USB-C ports. Previous models did not have USB-C ports.

As for your questions, and our comments:

1) Are you 100% sure that your X1 Yoga 2 when ordering included the mobile broadband (WWAN) card directly from Lenovo?

Having a SIM card tray does not guarantee that your ThinkPad has a mobile broadband (WWAN) card installed.

In fact, you also need Lenovo to have the mobile broadband (WWAN) antennae preinstalled when ordering from Lenovo.

2a) You can also double-check for mobile broadband (WWAN) card in Windows 10:

[Control_Panel]>>[Network_Adapter]

~under this should list your mobile broadband (WWAN) card properly installed.

~For example, our X1 Carbon Gen 3 indicated that we had "Ericsson N5321 GW" mobile broadband (WWAN) card installed.

~For example, our X1 Extreme Gen 3 indicated that we had "Fibocom L860-GL" mobile broadband (WWAN) card installed.

2b) Your screenshot indicated [Control_Panel]>>[Others_Devices] which may be incorrect place to look for the presence of mobile broadband (WWAN) card.

Good luck!

Daily Driver: X1 Extreme Gen 3 (X1E-3) | WWAN (mobile broadband)
