I use my laptop primarily for developing and I've found the 2 core processor in my x1 yoga really struggling unless I'm in a stripped down linux environment.
I'm having a hard time finding details for the respective part numbers, but if possible I would like to replace the motherboard currently in my yoga with the four-core model that's in the 3rd gen x1 yoga. Is this logistically possible? If it isn't, what would the cheapest way be for me to either get 4 cores in this machine, or get a 4 core machine (maybe a trade-in w/ lenovo)?
If it changes anything, I'm still covered by my warranty.
Thanks for your help!

Same problem as you, the speed is very bad for a developer and photo editor, I'm a bit dissapointed with it.... and I got the OLED screen, which makes it even worse because battery life sucks.....
I'm trying to sell it and get one of the 8th gen versions....

I'm having some issues with my X1 yoga 2nd gen purchased in October last year.
They said it needs motherboard replacement, can I have them upgrade my motherboard with the 3rd while they have to service it.
Is it possible and worth taking the risk?
Also, I was expecting them to replace the product instead of servicing/warranty in that, how can I get that done?
Any help is much appreciated.
