Thinkpad X230 power button rapidly flashing

2019-05-08, 16:02 PM

Sometimes my laptop doesn't shut down or wake up when hibernated before.

The screen is dark and the power button starts flashing rapidly and I can't do anything but shutting it off by pulling the plug.

I haven't found a pattern when that happens yet.

Do you have any advice on what to do?

Hi Yogileee!

Welcome to the community,

Please open the Lenovo Vantage and run driver and BIOS update to get the lastest version for your display driver and BIOS. You may download it here if it's not pre-installed on your laptop.

Regards,

Try doing a power drain by removing all connected devices (ac adapter, USB flash drive, etc.), shut it down and hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Turn it back on after a few minutes and observe.
