Thinkpad X250 RAM Upgrade

2017-12-05, 15:49 PM

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X250 Laptop.

Configuration is following:

Processor: Intel Core i5-4300U Processor(i5-4300U) 1.90 GHz, Memory: 8GB, Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64-bit

I trying to upgrade RAM with 16gb module. I updated bios with latest version (1.27) , i mounted 16gb ram, but it doesn't work. Laptop doesn't start, HD seems to start buf turns off after a few seconds. No problem reinstalling 8gb ram.

Can you help me? I have to install other update?

16gb ram is a Crucial DDR3L - 1600 SODIMM 1.35V CL11 (CT204864F160B)

Thanks in advance.

It is an x250, but it is one of the x250 models with a 4th gen (i5-4300U) CPU.  The CPU and chipset simply won't work with 16GB modules.
