Hi - I have a Lenova TP X260 that will not get past 10% on the update scan for drivers and software, accessible under the technical support pages DRIVERS & SOFTWARE --> SYSTEM UPDATE --> Start Scan.
It runs up to 10% and then hangs. It has been this way for several months, and I am sure that there are probably updates that I need. I am running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64 fully patched from MS.
Can someone give me some guidance, please, on what may be the problem?

Could you locate the SU run log.
It is located in c\programdata\lenovo\systemupdate\logs\tvsu_*timestamp*.log
Attach the log by using the Browse button located below the reply panel on the left side.

Your failure point is : Message: Unable to connect to the server
Something is blocking this connection.
What anti-virus are you using?
You are using SU 5.07.0037. Uninstall it.
Download 5.07.0045 from your support page and run SU from the start button.
Post the log from this run. Do not run SU from the webpage.

AWESOME! I uninstalled the old version (.0037), downloaded and installed the new version (.0045), making sure to tic the box saying "create a program menu shortcut. I then ran it from the start menu as you recommended, and the error message said "Unable to connect to proxy server". I DO have a proxy server, but it only is used when on company VPN, so IMHO, there is a bug in the program. It should check for an active available internet connection BEFORE trying to connect to the proxy, and that way this would not have been an issue.
Anyway, I went into INTERNET OPTIONS, unchecked the proxy, and sure enough, that did the trick. As I expected, I had 13 updates that needed installing. SO - problem solved, with my thanks to you!
