Thinkpad X40 Display - 1600x900

Hello everyone,

I have an IBM Thinkpad x40..Recently I bought a 20'' widescreen that has a recommended resolution of 1600x900.

I have updated the Video Driver at Intel site and the BIOS at Lenovo site, but the Max resolution I can get is 1024x768.....I asked at Intel support and they say the chipset would support 1600x900 resolution, but may exist some other equipment constrains.

Do any one have any experience with this?

Thanks

Re: Thinkpad X40 Display - 1600x900

Just to let you I resolved my problem. The Hint is:

1. Google "IEGD_5_0_WINDOWS.ZIP"

2. Download IEGD_5_0_WINDOWS.ZIP from Intel's website.

3. Extracting the zip file will create a folder named "IEGD_5_0_Windows" which will have a "Driver" subfolder.

4. Update the display driver via Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Adapter -> Properties -> Driver -> Update Driver

5. Install from specific location, Don't Search, and point to the "Driver" directory mentioned above. Select the only .inf file present, i.e., ssigd.inf

6. Since these drivers are not digitally signed you will get a warning about installing them. Ignore it and continue anyway. When the installation is done, reboot.

Good Luck.

Esteban
