Thinkpad x200 Windows 8.1 Graphics Display Driver Crash

2015-06-21, 16:40 PM

I recently bought a Lenovo Thinkpad X200 from Amazon.

The OS it came with was Windows 8.1.

I found out that whenever I try to play Steam games*, my screen turns black and then grey, repeating.

I then have to ALT + F4 to terminate the program.

I think my display driver may need updating.

I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit and am currently using Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Chipset Family as my Display adapter driver.

Whenever the driver crashes in a windowed program, a popup says 'Wwindows XP Display Driver has crashed'.

Well- something along those lines.

I have been searching, and cannot find a suitable driver that actually works.

(Most aren't compatible)

Help, please.

Thanks..

But I can't seem to find a display driver that is 'compatible'.

I've downloaded lots but whenever I launch I still get the error

"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".

Turns out ''Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Chipset Family' is no longer supported.

(and your suggestion still didn't do anything).

:/
