Thinkpad x201 and x200 Ultrabase docking

2015-01-18, 12:50 PM

Hi,

i newly bought X200 Ultrabase for my x201 laptop. after attached my x201 on ultrabase and plugged it to 22 inch thinkvision monitor with VGA analog cable, screen blinked several times.

after that when i detached x201 from docking station, i realized a dead pixel on the laptop lcd. it disturbs me really.

my laptop is still under warranty. is it possible technical service handle it ?

please i need your suggestions.

i found out the problem that, when my x201 is on standby (sleep) if i attach it to the ultrabase and push power button on ultrabase, it opens monitor with flashing and blinks. but dead pixel is still there :/

why is that so?

Dead pixel is on the panel, it will stay there with or without docking station (it was either there before or just died recently). Only fix to my knowledge is to replace the panel.

Hi, thanks for replying. dead pixel happened recently. i didnt realize before. what i mean is docking station is caused this dead pixel i bet. it flashes and blinks when i open the laptop from standby with power button on the docking station.

I doubt the ultrabase caused the dead pixel.  Probably it was just a weird coincidence.
