I have a worklaptop (x260) and am trying to connect it with a LG Ultrafine 5k Display. The display only has USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 out and when I'm connecting the laptop (using a USB-C to Mini Displayport/Thunderbolt 2 cord) it does nothing and won't detect it. The setup works for another laptop so I know the cord is fine...
Does anyone know if I can just download some drivers for Thunderbolt 3 (Found these: LINK) or do I need a dock? Reason I'm not trying is that I need my corporate IT to download and install so wanted to make sure it's the right solution.
Thank you for any replies! And apologies if this topic has already been delt with -- I searched but without any luck.

Thunderbolt 3 uses a USB-C connector for its cabling, but it does not send USB signals through the cable.
You will need a computer with a native Thunderbolt 3 interface to use the LG UltraFine 5K IPS LED Monitor.
Neither the ThinkPad X260 or any of its compatible docks have a Thunderbolt interface that I'm aware of. As far as I know the X280 is the first X2x0-series laptop to have a Thunderbolt 3 interface.
