Thinkpad x280 - dual monitor

I would like to connect two 24in monitors to extend the display across the two screens.  The user manual states that if you connect a monitor to both the HDMI and USBC then USBC will have priority.  I could not find any explanation as to how two monitors can be connected to enable extended display.

I assume one option is to purchase a docking station but I am hoping there is a less expensive option.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Thinkpad x280 - dual monitor

Dear customer,

sorry for late response, but you can use 2 external monitors on X280 when you connect the Type-C monitor to Thunderbolt  connector side and connect HDMI monitor to HDMI connector.

In the X280 User Guide at page 33-34 describes "USB-C connector [1]" and "HDMI connector[2]" are exclusive.
