Thunderbolt 3 dock not working with Yoga X380

I just bought a X380 and a Thunderbolt 3 dock and it seems that even if I updated the driver to the latest one, my dock is still not working to provide power supply to my laptop via the USB C Cable. It has different error messages:


1. plugged in, discharging

2. plugged in, not charging

3. it is plugged it, it shows like it is charging but it is not. 


I don't know what to do anymore and I would really like to work. Could you please advise?

Also, my battery is draining, from 100% to 86% in 10 minutes without heavy usage.

I had the same problem.

Disconnect from Dock.

unplug power from dock


Boot the yoga in to bios.

In bios go to security for the thundbolt dock and set security to none (may have other verbiage.


connect everythign back to dock and put power back to it.  


These were the instructions I got from Lenovo support.

Good Luck. And if you find out how to get the fan to shut up or calm down when connected to the Doc let me know.
