I am experiencing an annoying problem - my trackpad stopped working. I have narrowed it down to a driver issue. Because if i uninstall the "Synaptics ThinkPad UltraNav"-driver the trackpad starts working. As soon I install it again it stops. I have tried rebooting and it's no difference. When the driver is installed I cannot even the "Mouse" dialog in control panel.
I have tried the latest drivers: 22.214.171.124 as well as the previous driver. Same result. I have downloaded the drivers through the website as well as with Lenovo support app.
My model is the new X1 Carbon, model: 20A7005UM5 not even 2 weeks old. It worked until yesterday. The only thing done since is the regular update by Windows 8.1. I even tried a system restore before the updates but now there is no difference.
I want to point out that, when driver is uninstalled, the trackpad works, but without all the functionality.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
