Hello all
I have terrible but totally random trackpoint drifting
It can be so bad it will drift for the whole screen. during the drift, the touchpad is non-responsive.
It'll continue to drift if i keep trying to use the trackpoint
the only way to stop is to wait 1-2 mintues hands off trackpoint.
If i try to use the trackpoint before the 1-2 minute is up, even if the cursor is still, it will stil drift!
I noticed there's a new firmware for Yoga gen 3 which MAY fix this problem for them.
- Is there such a firmware for X1 Carbon Gen 6 ?
- does this firmware work with X1 C Gen 6? i am hesitent to try a firmware. Happily try a driver though!

I have a new X1 Carbon 6th generation. I have noticed that intermittently, the cursor will start drifting around the screen and the trackpad becomes unresponsive. I believe that this is the trackpoint making the cursor move. It lasts between 2-10 seconds and is very frustrating as I can't continue my work. I have tried disabling the trackpoint but I like using the top mouse buttons which get disabled as well with this settting. I have tried reinstalling the input drivers, no luck.
Any suggestions? Do I need to return the laptop?

I'm having the same issue. Lenovo is there a way to fix this?

See the original thread on that issue: Y1 Yoga 3rd gen - issues with trackpoint drift correction

Not sure if anyone is game enough to install firmware that wasn't designed for X1c. Can Lenovo engineers please comment??
Thank you

I too am having this problem, on a new X1 Carbon 6th gen, Win 10 64 Pro.
I am ready to:
- send in the machine for service (which will require me to reinstall the whole OS, rather than sending them personal info)
-- so I'll try out the above Yoga fix -- nothing to lose.
- if not fixed, return this defective machine for a full refund.
This is profoundly unacceptable.
Thanks.

I have the same issue.

While I had this issue for a while, it seems to have resolved itself. Not sure if it just needed to calibrate itself, or if it was me reinstalling the drivers a few times. For those experiencing it, give it a few days to see if it improves, and try to use the trackpoint a bit to get it calibrated.

I've had the issue off and on for months. Has gotten really obnoxious and happening more frequently. I note - if I close other programs, it seems to work better. Not a good solution. Would love to hear from Lenovo.

I have had this problem since i got mine back in april. I think i have seen a reply from lenovo regarding this somewhere, but most posts regarding this issue seems unanswered (including mine).
