UI interruption when checking updates

I was experiencing interruption when "System Updates" or "Lenovo Vantage" was checking the availability of updates.

It seems that external processes are invoked in frontend instead of background causing the switching of applications, and hence, interruption.

 

Have anyone experienced this? Any solution? or workaround?

same issue and no known resolution. and further, my System Interrupts are taxing my CPU as 20%. really dang annoying.

Hi EDH_CA! Welcome to our forums. Was there any error message when it interrupts? Does it freeze? if yes, for how long? Try running a hardware test from the Lenovo Vantage app. Install all available updates.

Hi, Jwes_Lenovo! Seem that my issue finally got noticed after 2 months.

 

The problem is probably due to checking thunderbolt updates. Some processes were started with something like a hidden window.

Since the check was scheduled to run automatically, the interruption is a regular problem.

BTW, I have disabled the auto update.

when i run Lenovo Vantage, i lose control of my mouse in the UI as Vantage is doing checkups. instead of Vantage working in bacground, it works in foreground. it's a minor bother to me but stopped me from being able to write an email when Vantage was doing its checkup on drivers.

 

no error meesages, just losing control of what's in foreground/active app and usability of the CX16G. no freezing either, just loss of use of the foreground app.

Hello there!
I found something similar on another thread. It's for a different computer, but the only setting that was changed was within the Lenovo Vantage app. Could you check if the user profile is set to "Personal Use"?
