Unable to wake up from "Sleep" or "Hibernate"

My new X1 Carbon 7th Gen frequently will not wake up from Sleep. I just tried Hibernate and have the same problem. The manual says it takes a few seconds before the keyboard or touchpad will respond, but I've waited for quite a while.
